Apple Inc. once again surprise their customer with their new lappy called as Mac Book Air. It is part of the Mac book Family and features an optional solid state hard disk drive. January 2008, Mac Book Air is launch in the Macworld Conference & Expo. What is so special about this notebook is the thickness of this notebook. Only 0.7inches, this Mac Book Air bring the portable power to it user. This notebook is powered by Intel Core 2 Duo 1.8 GHz supported by the big RAM size 2GB DDR II SDRAM - 667 MHz. Mac Book Air weight is only around 3.0 pound. This mean that this notebook is really portable. Although this not book is very thick, Apple Inc. not forget to integrated this lappy with the web cam for their user to make a video conference via internet.

Mac Book Air have have a good design, glossy finished and look very stylish because the size and the thickness of the notebook. But of course everthing have its own disadvantages. in order to reduce the size and weight of the notebook, Apple Inc. has remove the optical drive from this notebook and also its lack with the express card or cardbus slot. Another major disadvantage with this model is the USB port. Mac Book Air only offer single USB port for its user. Unfortunately, the USB port will be full if the user need to use the Ethernet. for your information, Mac Book Air also doesn't have any Ethernet port. the user need to buy Ethernet adapter and plug into the USB port to use it. So, the USB slot is not available anymore for others devices. That really a big major advantages.

Unlike the rest of the MacBook family, the MacBook Air has no directly user-replaceable parts. Its hard drive, memory, and battery are enclosed within the casing, with memory soldered directly to the motherboard. This also can cause a problem to the user to change any hardware of the Mac book Air. In Malaysia, the Mac Book Air price is around RM6400.00 with 1 year international warranty.
