| Intro… Web server is the application that combines several applications that needed to run a server side script such as PHP, ASP, and others. Since the PHP is popular, it has several web servers that help to execute the script. Joomla! Use the PHP script and need web server to execute the script. First of all, you need the appropriate tools to install Joomla! 1.5.x into your computer. This tutorial is using Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate and it may have some different from yours operating system. The main things you need are the web server application. Below is the list of web server that you can download and use: AppServ WAMP Server (Highly recommended) XAMPP (Also available for MAC OS) Server2Go The Uniform Server What is Web Server? A computer that delivers Web pages to browsers and other files to applications via the HTTP protocol. It includes the hardware, operating system, Web server software, TCP/IP protocols and site content (Web pages and other files). If the Web server is used internally and not by the public, it may be called an "intranet server." - PCMAG.com Encyclopedia Download & Installing Localhost Web Server Ok, I highly recommended user to download WAMP Server. WAMP server is currently support only Windows platform. So, if you are running under Linux OS, you can use XAMPP or LAMP. For MAC OS user, you can use XAMPP for MAC version. So, to anyone that use Windows, please download WAMP Server. Click here to Download WAMP Server.  After finish download the WAMP server, navigate to the location you save the application.  Double click the application name as WampServer2.0f.exe and begin the installation process by click on the next button until it finish.  During the installation progress, you’ll be asked for the location of “wamp” folder. Usually the default is C:\wamp (That the default location) Depend on you to change it or not. If you are the beginner user, I recommend to you that just let it be there.  After that, you’ll be asked about the default web browser. So you can choose your default web browser such as Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome or others web browser. I suggest using Mozilla Firefox. Next you’ll be asked for the PHP mail configuration.  There was default configuration that is for the SMTP: localhost and email: you@yourdomain Ok, you can let it be like that. Just change the email as you want. After that, just click next and tick launch Wamp Server 2 now to execute the program and click finish. After click next, you’ll be asked to create shortcut for WAMP Server in your desktop and quick launch bar. Just tick if you want to create shortcut. (Recommended). After executing the Wamp Server application, check out at you task bar, the Wamp application icon should be visible there and the color is white like shown in the picture:  You should make sure that the Wamp server icon is in white color because it indicates that all service is run properly that include the MySQL, PHP and Apache. If you identify that your Wamp server is in yellow or red color, it mean that there are some service is not running. Try left clicking to the icon and click on “Restart All Services”. The Wamp server will restart all services. **Reminder! Sometimes when you are using Skype, it also will caused Wamp can’t run its services properly because the port they are using is the same port. So, please disable Skype when using Wamp server or you still can use Wamp Server and Skype at one time by execute the Wamp server first and then Skype or you can change the port use by Wamp.(You can Google it) Ok, we are done installing the WAMP Server. Congratulation! The Scooby Snacks… You can access the localhost by typing the URL address in your web browser: http://localhost or http://127.0.0.1 You can use either one of this address to access through you web server. Here the screenshot:   Rather than above option to access the web server, you also can access to the localhost and your database. Just left click the Wamp Icon and click to “Localhost”. It will show like those screenshot:  Another than that, you also are able to create and manage your own databases in the web server application since the web server also install the MySQL database. How to access to it? It’s simple; just key-in this URL address in your browser: http://localhost/phpmyadmin/ then you will be directed to the database management called as PHP MyAdmin.  You also can access it by left click on the Wamp Server icon and click “phpMyAdmin” and it will open the same page shown as:  The Success… Now you have done the process of installing web server to be as a house for your Joomla! 1.5.x It is really simple process and you maybe continue to the Joomla! 1.5.x installation in the localhost tutorial that I’ll upload as soon as possible. Yup...just to help beginner to installing web server into their desktop PC or lappy.
Just stay tune with my latest tutorial regarding to the Joomla! 1.5.x installation using the WAMP as the house for it.

where u host? what can i do if i got local hosting package and do i need wampserver? kan ada fantastico autoinstaller... bang, pls ajar tentang itu. can i use fantastico installer?
