Lot of question asking about the Joomla! folder and file CHMOD or permission. Lot of people quite confuse with the folder and file permission they should set. Ok, to make it clear, simply u can set the permission based on the setting below.

PHP files: 644
Configuration files: 666
Other folders: 755

Please remember, this only recommendation. You may change your CHMOD according to your needs.
You can CHMOD your Joomla! files or folder with many method such as using your FTP software (recommended Filezilla), via Cpanel or using Joomla! tools that you can download from JED.
