Are the Windows Vista user? I just want to share something on how to make your vista be more lighten than it was. As my experience using Windows Vista Ultimate with Service Pack 1 upgrade, I realize that Vista use lot of resources of RAM in order to run it services. Some of the services we didn’t use and can be disable for more performance. Below is some of the simple ways on how to speed up your Windows Vista but it also depending on your computer specification. Of course a good computer system will result a good performance. So, let check it out the tips on how to speed up your Windows Vista performance.
Turn off UAC To turn it off, the easiest way is to go into the Control Panel, navigate to User Account, There you will see ‘Turn User Account Control (UAC) on or off’. Just follow the prompts from there.
Disable Aero This can save around 15% of your CPU and Graphic Card usage. For those who are the graphical style fans, you will think this is not worthy to be disabling because you love the GUI effect. So, you can skip this tweak. If you think you want to disable this effect, you can easily open your start menu, go to run, and type in ’systempropertiesperformance’ From the Visual Effects tab, uncheck ‘Animate windows when minimizing and maximizing’ While you are here, might as well check out the other goodies you can disable.
ReadyBoost ReadyBoost is one of the more innovative features of Vista. The idea behind it is to use solid state memory as a secondary memory cache (before hard drive caching). It does require a certain level of speed from your USB (or other) flash drive. To enable ReadyBoost, just plug in a fast flash drive, and AutoPlay should come up with a dialog stating that you can use it for readyboost. If you have disabled it, you can just go to the properties for the drive and select it under the readyboost tab.
Tweak Indexing Service Go to my computer, right click on C: drive, go to the General tab, and uncheck Index this drive for faster searching, select Include subfolders and files. If you want, you can just remove any extra areas of search, so you can keep your fast searching for some areas.
Disable the Windows sidebar If you use the sidebar, it’s ok for you to let it be there. But I think lot of Vista user doesn’t use the Windows Sidebar, so, you can disable it via you control panel and go to Windows Sidebar Properties.
