Reformat your operating system into Windows XP? Here the simple tutorial that you can follow to install new copy of Windows XP operating system to your hard disk. Anyway, reformat the operating system is not a good idea to solve any problems or error. Before formatting the operating system, you should try to find a solution to the error first. There are lots of ways to fix PC problems before reinstalling Windows, a fresh install should be an absolute last resort.

Preparation:
1. Computer / PC /Laptop (of course you need it)
2. CD drive or DVD drive
3. Windows XP installation CD with valid product key (Microsoft License)
4. Hardware driver for your PC / Laptop (Very important) (If you don’t have it, please download with you PC / Laptop vendor)
5. Software you need to use such as Office, Burner, Media Player, etc

Step 1
Backup any data from your hard drive partition that you want to install. Make sure you backup everything you need or you will regret Cry(For fresh install, skip this step)

Step 2
Insert Windows XP installation disc into CD drive or DVD drive.

Step 3
Reboot your PC / Laptop. Depend on your PC / Laptop bios, you will change the boot order into CD to make it boot from CD. This step can be done by entering your bios and look-up for the boot order tab. Mostly PC / Laptop has a little message as it's booting up that says "Press F12 to boot from CD,". So select boot from CD.

Step 4

You will see blue screen that show setup screen that show Windows XP Licensing Agreement and need you to press F8 key in order to accept the Windows XP Licensing Agreement. After accept the Windows XP Licensing Agreement, if it asks you want to repair windows, just press ESC key to skip it.

Step 5
All your existing disk partitions will be listed. You want to delete the current partition where Windows is installed. Use the arrow key to select it, and press D to delete it. Press L to confirm. Then, to create a new partition, select the unpartitioned space and press C. To create a new partition with the maximum amount of space allocated to it, just press Enter.

Step 6
Format the drive as NTFS. It depends on you to select quick format or normal. I suggest you to use the normal one. Wait until it finishes formatting your partition. This will take time, usually depend on your partition size. Bigger mean more time needed.

Step 7
After complete formatting your partition 100%, your PC / Laptop will restart automatically, this time, don’t click for boot from CD again, just let it boot. After that, the installation screen will appear. From here, you may follow the Microsoft instruction at the installation screen.

Step 8

During the installation, you will be asked for network configuration, username, password and etc. Just follow the entire setup screen

Step 9
After finish all the installation process, of course it will automatically reboot your system. Now what you need to do is install all you hardware drive to make it function. Get a list of what Windows doesn't have installed correctly. From Control Panel, go to System, then Hardware, and click on the Device Manager. From there, you can identify what device need correct driver. It will be mark by yellow question mark. Use you driver disc provided by your PC / Laptop vendor. If you do not have it, just Google and download it by entering you hardware name and model. After install all the required driver, reboot your PC / Laptop.

Step 10
Ok, now you may use the Windows update function to update your operating system. Microsoft has release lot of update and now, it has the Service Pack 3 (SP3). So, you are recommended to update to SP3. (Need the internet connection)

Step 11
Install all software that you want to use. That it, now your PC /Laptop are ready to use.

Ok, I think that all my guide for you to install a fresh Windows XP. Good luck!!!
